Travis Perkins has moved its Corby branch to a larger, purpose-built site, adding a hire offering to the location for the first time and creating six new roles in the process.
The relocation sees the branch’s headcount double to nine staff, now operating from a 1.5-acre plot with improved stock levels, specialist product knowledge and a full hire equipment range on offer. The merchant is positioning the site as a one-stop base for tradespeople across Northamptonshire.
For the first time, the branch will house a Travis Perkins Hire operation, giving customers access to a wide range of tool and equipment hire and adding to the group’s hire network, which now spans over 270 locations nationwide.
Since opening this week, the site has also introduced a brick library, a landscaping display area, an estimating service, plus click and collect and next-day delivery options.
Regional Director Billy Hadkiss said the move marked a notable step forward for the local trade community. “By moving to a much larger, purpose-built site, we can expand our offering. Bringing Travis Perkins Hire to Corby for the first time, alongside our existing services, means we can truly serve as a one-stop shop for our customers’ every need,” he said.
The branch will be open 7am–5pm Monday to Friday and 8am–12pm on Saturdays. Customers can reach the team on 01536 264001, or manage accounts via the Travis Perkins website or app.
Branch Manager Stacey Ward-Murray said staff had worked hard behind the scenes to get the new site ready. “We are delighted to double the size of the team to 9, who can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors moving forward. With our expanded services and a larger stock inventory, we are in a better position than ever to provide the outstanding service and expert advice that local tradespeople rely on every day,” she said.
To mark the opening, Travis Perkins made a £1,000 donation to its chosen charity, Alzheimer’s Society.
