Travis Perkins Managed Services (TPMS) has secured a new contract with Great Yarmouth Borough Council to support the repair and maintenance of more than 5,700 social housing properties across the borough.
The agreement, which could run until 2029, will see materials and products supplied through the local Great Yarmouth Travis Perkins branch, providing council operatives with dedicated access to the resources needed to complete repair and maintenance works efficiently.
As part of the partnership, TPMS will introduce a dedicated trade counter and storage area exclusively for Great Yarmouth Borough Council operatives, supported by two full-time members of staff. The dedicated facility is designed to reduce collection times and help teams get back on site quicker.
The council will also benefit from TPMS’s TPgo Suite, including TPgo Data and TPgo Order. The digital tools provide greater visibility over material usage and job tracking, while allowing operatives to pre-order products for collection and helping ensure council vehicles remain stocked with frequently used items through van stock management.
Anthony Keen, Business Development Executive at TPMS, said: “We are really pleased to be working with Great Yarmouth Borough Council and having another partnership in the area to utilise our Managed Services.
“We’re looking forward to supporting them in maintaining social housing properties that are welcoming for their tenants. We want to make sure that the solution we’re providing meets our customers’ needs and can take a uniquely flexible approach.”
He added that TPMS can support customers through a range of solutions, from dedicated trade counters and pop-up branches to autonomous TPgo SelfServe units, helping social housing providers improve access to materials as new legislative requirements come into effect.
Councillor Carl Smith, Leader of Great Yarmouth Borough Council, said the partnership would help improve efficiency for housing teams by reducing time spent travelling to branches and allowing operatives to access materials more quickly.
He said: “The van stock system is going to be a massive help in reducing time lost when our operatives have to go back and forth to branches, meaning that our residents can rest assured that their repair and maintenance jobs will be completed more quickly.”
TPMS was appointed following a mini-competition through PfH’s Materials Supply Framework, with support provided throughout the procurement process.
Preet Katavada, Account Manager at PfH, said the partnership demonstrates how supply chain solutions can help councils improve operational efficiency, with dedicated counters, van stock and data tools helping teams complete repairs faster while improving visibility of spend.
