Elliotts raises the bar with customer guarantee backed by compensation

Independent builders’ merchant Elliotts has unveiled a new customer guarantee that it says sets a new benchmark for service in the builders’ merchant sector, with financial compensation available if key commitments on stock, deliveries and pricing are not met.

The Help You Build Guarantee has been introduced to address three of the most common challenges faced by tradespeople, contractors and self-builders: product availability, on-time deliveries and price confidence. Rather than relying on service promises alone, the initiative offers measurable commitments backed by compensation of up to £500 where standards are not achieved.

More than 300 products are included within Elliotts’ Guaranteed Range, identified online with a ‘G’ marker.

Under the guarantee, customers can claim 20% off a guaranteed product if it is unavailable for collection and Elliotts cannot deliver it to site within two hours. Eligible customers can also claim 20% off an order if it is not delivered in full on the promised day. In addition, Elliotts will match any publicly available online price for an identical in-stock product.

The family-owned merchant said the initiative reflects its wider commitment to helping customers complete projects more efficiently while reinforcing the value builders’ merchants can provide beyond supplying materials.

Tom Elliott, CEO of Elliotts Builders Merchants, said: “If you’re in the trade, you rely on your merchant every day. We know that when things go wrong, it slows you down and costs you time and money.

“So we’ve introduced the Help You Build Guarantee. We’ll match the price, deliver on time and keep the products you rely on most in stock – guaranteed. And if we get it wrong, you can claim up to £500 back.

“This is about making your job easier. Where other merchants promise, we guarantee.”

The Help You Build Guarantee is available across Elliotts’ branch network for customers with a free named Elliotts account.
